Final Presentation on the book

In our last class, we did a final presentation on our books.

My book was "Big Girl."
I picked up 2 key points after reading it.

First...
Throughout the story, she struggles with her weight and her love life.Even if she tries to lose weight, her weight continues to go up and down since
she likes to eat and depends on food to manage life.
But because of her appearance, her parents especially her father always teased her.
I think what the author wanted to say was that the main character just wanted to be loved and accepted.

Second...
The two sisters looked completely different and they were different in ages,
but they kept in touch for a long time even though they lived separately.
The main character didn't like her parents but she did like her sister very much.
I thought there is a strong relationship between the sisters.

McDonald’s Diet Defies Conventional Wisdom of Fast Food

This video is about fast food diet. A high school teacher lost weight by eating McDonalds. He is on a mission to show that eating McDonald’s is actually good for you. He continued to eat for 90 days and also walked 45 minutes a day, 4 to 5 days a week. What happened was, he was able to lower his cholesterol as well as lose weight. Even if people can lose weight, I don't think McDonald's diet is wise. If people want to loose weight, they should eat food like vegetables and fruits and exercise to stay healthy.

Eat Expired Food, Be Green: Real World Green

I watched and listened to this podcast. It talked about expired food. The dates printed on food which says best before or expires on, doesn't exactly mean that we can't eat the food after them. In fact, people waste 1400 calories of food every day by throwing out expired food and others. Also, according to a research, 40% of the food produced is wasted. The speaker insists we eat some expired food and be green to the environment.
