McDonald’s Diet Defies Conventional Wisdom of Fast Food

This video is about fast food diet. A high school teacher lost weight by eating McDonalds. He is on a mission to show that eating McDonald’s is actually good for you. He continued to eat for 90 days and also walked 45 minutes a day, 4 to 5 days a week. What happened was, he was able to lower his cholesterol as well as lose weight. Even if people can lose weight, I don't think McDonald's diet is wise. If people want to loose weight, they should eat food like vegetables and fruits and exercise to stay healthy.

  1. I'm glad that you questioned the wisdom of eating a McDonald's diet. I agree with you that consuming fruit, vegetables, and grains--as well as getting plenty of exercise--is the best way to stay healthy.

The teacher in this news story simplistically equates losing weight with "being healthy." It's true that weight loss can help control or prevent diabetes and has other health benefits but junky McDonald's food has little fiber and too much saturated fat, which is definitely not ideal for the heart and increases cancer risk. I wouldn't call that healthy.

  2. I think that it is wrong to think that losing weight is healthy. While being over-weight may certainly be unhealthy it does not mean you are healthy just because you lost weight.
